Welcome to the Boston Advanced Motorcyclists group
The motorcycle section of the group are dedicated to having fun and tuning your riding skills for the development of your safety and enjoyment whilst on the road. We are an enthusiastic group of motorcyclists (both sexes, old & young riding a broad range of bikes from Fireblades & Ducati's to Pan Europeans & Goldwings) who offer a range of social events as well as being fully committed to helping our members achieve the IAM's advanced test standard
Observed runs for Associates (riders preparing for their IAM Advanced Test), where possible, will be on a one to one basis with an allocated Observer (these are volunteers who have not only passed their IAM tests, but have also completed further training, enabling them to offer guidance). These rides will be organised for times to suit both the Associate and the Observer. The section meets as a group on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer at the Algarkirk services meeting at 6.30pm for Observed rideouts. During the Winter months the group meets one Sunday morning a month at the same venue (see forum for latest information) for Observed rideouts. Thearea our group covers is shown on the map below, however we also have members outside this area.
The test may be booked when the Observer and Chief Observer agree that the Associate has reached the required test standard.
In addition the group organises regular social rides for all members. Recently these have included rides to Foxton Locks, the Ace Cafe, Rutland Water and Squires cafe. We also organise non bike related socials and encourage our members to get involved with the events organised by the car side of the group (for forthcoming events see events schedule and forum).
